Interconnected Keyed Deadbolt and Passage Handle Function: Single cylinder keyed entry door hardware is locked and unlocked from the exterior using a key in the deadbolt and can be locked from the interior using the locking device. The interconnected mechanism is panic proof and allows the deadbolt to be unlocked by turning the handle from the inside. Interconnect Technology: Kwikset’s Interconnect technology is ideal for apartment or multi-family housing. The device’s deadbolt latch and plain latch operate in sync with each other, allowing both to be retracted by turning the interior lever alone. For models with a deadbolt and keyed handle, only one key is necessary to unlock both cylinders simultaneously. This provides a convenient single key entrance and panic free exit solution.
BumpGuard™: Lock bumping is an attack technique used to defeat conventional pin and tumbler locks. Kwikset’s BumpGuard™ component utilizes a patented side locking bar which replaces the traditional pin and tumbler design providing protection against lock bumping.
